A starting point for a medical conversation
An appointment is a chance to explain what you have tried, what has been difficult and what you hope will change. You can discuss how weight concerns relate to your overall health without having to choose a treatment before meeting the physician.
Medical weight management involves individual evaluation and follow-up. It should give you a clearer understanding of the care being proposed, the responsibilities involved and how progress will be reviewed.
Bring your history, questions and priorities
Your physician can decide what additional assessment is appropriate. A discussion of health goals is not a promise of a particular medication, laboratory panel or weight-loss result.
- Your current medicines and supplements, including anything used for weight management.
- Previous approaches, what felt workable and what did not.
- Relevant medical records or test results you already have.
- Questions about meals, activity, sleep, costs and how follow-up works.
Look beyond a single appointment
A primary-care relationship allows weight-management questions to be considered alongside prevention and other ongoing health concerns. You can discuss practical changes, review progress and revisit the plan as your circumstances change.
Ask what follow-up is recommended for you, how to bring up difficulties and which parts of your care take place outside the practice. An understandable plan includes both the next step and a way to review it.
Understand the care model before joining
Cibolo is a Direct Primary Care practice. Membership supports a continuing relationship with a primary-care physician; it is not a standalone weight-loss package.
Ask the Boerne team about Dr. Slauter's current availability and whether the practice can address your needs. Medication, specialist care and outside testing can involve separate costs. Specific drugs and treatment eligibility are determined through clinical assessment, not through this page.
Membership and outside costs
Cibolo Family Medicine uses a Direct Primary Care membership model. Adults are $165 per month each. Children are $35 per month each when at least one adult is included; a child-only household pays $95 per month for each child.
Membership is not health insurance. Outside laboratory work, imaging, prescriptions, specialist and hospital care, and some tests or procedures can involve separate costs. Ask the practice what is included for your needs before enrolling.
