A family-medicine relationship for children and parents
Family medicine considers health across stages of life. It gives families a place to discuss everyday concerns, preventive care and changing needs while building familiarity with a physician.
The practice's services include pediatric care and sports physicals. The right visit and next step depend on the child's needs. A family-medicine physician is not the same professional designation as a pediatrician.
Check the details that matter to your family
Ask these questions before enrollment. The office can explain the care available for your child's age and needs, along with current appointment availability.
- Can the practice accept a child of your child's age with their particular care needs?
- Which physician and office would be the best fit?
- How are routine and timely appointments arranged?
- What should you know about vaccines, newborn care or outside pediatric services?
- Which tests, procedures or outside services can cost extra?
Understand the child-membership options
A child membership has a different monthly rate depending on whether an adult is included in the household membership. Families can use the existing calculator to compare their own combination of adults and children.
Do not assume a child-only household receives the reduced child-with-adult rate. The membership section below shows the current rates and links to the full explanation.
Prepare for a useful first conversation
Have your child's age, current care arrangements and questions ready when you contact the office. Medical history and private records should be shared through the practice's appropriate care process, not a public membership form.
Ask what records to bring, how to establish care and when an outside pediatric or emergency service may be appropriate. Knowing those boundaries helps you choose a primary-care relationship with clear expectations.
Membership and outside costs
Cibolo Family Medicine uses a Direct Primary Care membership model. Adults are $165 per month each. Children are $35 per month each when at least one adult is included; a child-only household pays $95 per month for each child.
Membership is not health insurance. Outside laboratory work, imaging, prescriptions, specialist and hospital care, and some tests or procedures can involve separate costs. Ask the practice what is included for your needs before enrolling.
